We love to have fun at Laurelmead and there’s plenty of it to go around. Since our precautionary protocols to keep the community protected from the pandemic (in all its incarnations) have been consistently successful, we’ve been able to enjoy each other’s company more and more. For instance, our annual Halloween party was the “hottest ticket in town.” Residents and staff turned up for pizza and calzones, pumpkin beer (soft drinks for the staff), lots of treats, and maybe a trick or two. It was wonderful to see the reactions of our newer residents that moved in during the height of the pandemic when life was pretty quiet here. They were getting their first real taste of just how lively our community can be under “normal” circumstances. (“Normal” includes the residents and staff being fully vaccinated.) We were particularly delighted by the imaginative costumes. We had such a great time the smiles continued for days afterward. We’re already looking forward to our next celebration – together.
