A Message from the Executive Director

SNOW. Love it or hate it – you’ll never have to shovel it again once you live at Laurelmead. During the blizzard just a couple of weeks ago, our dedicated Facilities team cleared snow and ice for nearly 24 hours straight to make sure our community remained safe and sound. Inside, as the storm blustered on, residents celebrated with a “snow-day party” complete with wine & cheese, fellowship, and laughter. If you want to finally leave your snow shovel behind, be sure to call us to schedule a tour. We’d love to meet you!

In addition to the Laurelmead snow plow for the roadways, our little “grasshopper” is small enough to clear walkways, patios, entrances, and exits.

COOPERATIVE GOVERNANCE

Laurelmead is a cooperative owned and governed by its resident shareholders and the only independent-living community of its kind in Rhode Island. One of the many advantages of living in a cooperative is that residents have a voice in the way things are run. The Laurelmead Board of Directors and its six advisory committees are all made up of, and elected by, residents. We’re proud of the enduring success of our cooperative structure. This February the annual Board elections took place and two newly-elected members will participate in our legacy of adroit resident stewardship.
