April is a month of rejuvenation. The grass is getting greener, gardens are coming to life, and the trees are laden with buds just waiting to burst with color. The warmer weather and long days make it the perfect time to shake off what’s left of the winter doldrums. Spring is also the perfect time to visit Laurelmead. Our community is always bustling with friendly people, welcoming smiles, and lots of activities. We have so many things to do that most people say the problem is deciding which event to attend. You can watch movies, enjoy concerts, study a language, get a therapeutic massage, picnic in the garden, rub elbows at cocktail parties, play duplicate bridge, or lounge by the pool without even leaving the grounds. Recently I had the pleasure of presenting “Employee Recognition Awards” for the number of years worked at Laurelmead. The longevity of our staff is quite impressive: 46 of our employees have been here for 5 years or more; of that 46, 28 have been here for 10 years or more; and of that 28, 18 have been here for 15 years or more! A statistic like this speaks for itself.
